TOPEKA, KANSAS - Larry Dean Allen, 71, of Berryton, Kansas passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at a Topeka hospital. He was born October 22, 1944, in Topeka, the son of Ethan and Myrtle (Hipsher) Allen. Larry graduated from Highland Park High School in 1963. He owned and operated Allen Trucking. Survivors include his children, Kimberly (Raymond) Torrez of Topeka, Eric Allen of Topeka, Tammie (Michael) Scales of Rowlett, Texas, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and his siblings, Bonnie Brown of Bolivar, Missouri, Twyla (Sam) Beer of Flemington, Missouri, Richard (Pam) Allen of Parkville, Missouri and his sidekick, Jasper. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association , P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, Kansas 66601.
