CLEARVIEW CITY, KANSAS - Jerry M. Freeman, 64, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at his home in Clearview City, Kansas.  He was born on February 18, 1944 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Eldon M. and Violet Holden Freeman.

He was employed in the construction field for most of his life, priding himself in his iron working and carpentry skills.  Jerry as gifted a new kidney in January of 2007. 

Survivors include Jerry's former wife and best friend, Linda Newton Freeman of Lenexa; their three daughters, Stacey Freeman (Jean Moloney) of Mariemont, Ohio; Jill (Shawn) Link of Hoyt, Kansas; Jerilyn (Mike) Smith of Lawrence; four grandchildren, Skyler, Peyton, Oscar, and Maya; his father, Eldon M. Freeman of Topeka; two brothers, Jack and Steve Freeman; and two sisters, Brenda Blakingship, and Debbie Taylor.

A celebration of his life was held at the Union Pacific Depot, Lawrence, Kansas on Thursday, August 7 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.  Private inurnment took place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were given to the Jerry M. Freeman Memorial Fund to cover medical expenses and assist other organ transplant recipients.
