LECOMPTON, KANSAS - Larry E. Hunter, 77, of Lecompton passed away on July 4, 2022. He was born August 12, 1944 in Topeka, the son of Elmer and Daisy Hunter. He graduated from Highland Park High School. Larry worked for the Santa Fe Railroad several years. He later worked at the Gas Service Company, which was briefly part of KPL. Larry retired from the Gas Service Company in 1994. Larry had a passion for cars. He loved working on them, as well as watching and attending NASCAR races. Hunting, fishing, camping and water skiing were favorite activities throughout his life. He enjoyed the summer, the hotter the better.  

He was married to Linda in 1972. She survives at their home.

Other survivors include his sister, Jancy Hunter and husband Terry of Silver Lake; sister-in-law, Barbara Weidner and husband Woody of Topeka; one niece Julie; and two nephews, Joe and Josh.

Larry was preceded in death by two sons, Lenn and Lonnie; and a niece Jennifer.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 on Saturday, July 9, 2022 prior to the service. The funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N.
