TOPEKA, KANSAS - Waunita "Cookie" DeShazer, 69, Berryton, passed away on October 30, 2013 at her home. She was born on April 7, 1944 in Topeka to Robert Koch and Lucile (Proctor) Beam. Waunita was a group leader at Jostens, retiring after 47 years of service. On December 14, 1960, she married Larry DeShazer; he survives. Also surviving are her children, Clark DeShazer, Wendell DeShazer and Rhonda DeShazer; brother, Rob Koch; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Jermaine, Anterio and Tristen, and six great-grandchildren, Bishop, Cadan, Jaylene, Ethan, Lilliana and Aaliyah. Waunita was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.  Burial followed at Lynn Creek Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions were made to Helping Hands Humane Society.
