Dale Marsh

TOPEKA, KANSAS -  Dale E. Marsh, 68 of Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at a local hospital.  Dale was born on October 10, 1943 in Topeka, the son of Dale and Laura (Richards) Marsh.  He graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Washburn University.  He served in the Marine Corps for six years during the Vietnam War.

He was a police officer with the Topeka Police Department retiring in 1996 after 20 years of service.  He later worked as a dispatcher for the Washburn University Police.  He retired in December 2010.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Topeka.

Dale married Dawn Carey on July 21, 1967 in Croom, Maryland.  She survives.  Other surviviors include daughters, Diana Marsh and Debbie Marsh, both of Topeka; and sister Kathy Jo Burgett, San Jose, California.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.  Private family inurnment was at a later date.  Memorial contributions were made to the American Lung Association.

Dale marsh was a good freind we had a lot of good times. I had not seen Dale in quite a few years sad that he has passed on.
