TOPEKA, KANSAS - Joe T. Randol, 35, died Tuesday, February 5, 1980, at a Topeka hospital after an extended illness.  He was born April 24, 1944, in Topeka, the son of Clyde L. Randol, Sr. and Genevieve J. Matthews Randol.  He lived in Topeka all his life and was graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962.

Mr. Randol was a sheet metal worker for 15 years at Cobler Sheet Metal until he retired in March 1977 because of ill health.  He also drove stock cars several years in the Topeka area.  He was a member of Sheet Metal Union Local No. 77 and a former member of Topeka Racing Association.  He attended the Salvation Army Church.

He was married to Laurena Sue Champney February 13, 1963, in Topeka.  She survives.  Other survivors inclue two sons, Randy Joe Randol and Jody Ray Randol, both of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Clyde L. Randol, Sr.; four sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Ashton, Mrs. Christine Epling, Mrs. Marlene Penhdleton, and Mrs. Tammy Thorp, all of Topeka; four brothers, Clyde Randol, Jr., Samuel Randol, Daniel Randol, and Paul Randol, all of Topeka; and a grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Randol of Topeka.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Salvation Army Chapel.  Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions were made to the Salvation Army or the Kidney Foundation.
