Paint chemist. Graduated from Washburn with BS in chemistry and joined Glidden company research center in Cleveland for 1 year before moving to Dallas. Spent about 15 fun and exciting years there before it got too big, then moved to Eugene, Oregon. Spent 19 years there before the winter weather got to me. But it had the most beautiful other 3 seasons of any place. Moved to Ocala, Florida 22 years ago and have enjoyed the weather ever since. Got to experience 3 hurricanes in one year. Glad we didn't live on the coast. Enjoying 11+ years of retirement.

Gardening, photography, member Ocala Lions International, volunteer @ Ocala civic theatre, member of Friends of Silver Springs State Park and a volunteer at same, volunteer at local animal shelter, member Ocala Audubon,
Florida Wildflower Foundation. Resume travel this year, hopefully.

More and European travel, live to get to know great-grandchildren, help preserve the fresh water resources in Florida, join a wagon train trip in Kansas, watch in person K-State beat KU in basketball, watch HP beat Topeka High again in football. Take Sandi to Grand Canyon.

Beating Topeka High in football, along with a number of sports memories in basketball and gymnastics. Some fun classes and some tough teachers. Getting to know people I had not grown up with and would only know for a few short years before leaving the state. Dealing with Dad as coach, teacher and parent. Could have used a brother or sister.

Thoroughly enjoying retirement after almost11 years. Pets still limit travel. Do get to Blue Ridge Mountains, North Georgia Mountains, Sanibel island most years, except during pandemic times. Sandi is an excellent artist and threatens to leave me at home the next time she goes to Sanibel so she can just paint all day and have Josie the dog for all the company she needs. I can remember the younger days when someone 77 was OLD and walked slow, bent over, and didn't do much of anything (unless you were a farmer). Now I have 2 artificial knees and one shoulder. I have survived 5 Back surgeries, heart attacks and got through prostate, skin and bladder cancer issues, but still have fun with gardening and photography and volunteer at local state park, Ocala Lions club and local animal shelter.
